Visit from His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon Magnus

On Monday, April 13, Hofseth had the pleasure of welcoming His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon Magnus and a large delegation, in a visit organized in collaboration with the Norwegian Seafood Council.

The program started in Molde and continued with a boat journey tothe semi-closed pilot facility “The Egg” in Storfjorden. During the transit, Hofseth presented its strategy and long-term commitment to developing sustainable and scalable salmon farming. The Crown Prince showed strong engagement, with particular interest in how new technologies can enhance fish welfare, reduce environmental impact, and support future industry growth.

The visit included presentations of operational learnings from several years of testing. This solution represents a core component of Hofseth’s ambition to build a leading position within sustainable aquaculture, and forms the foundation for a large-scale production hub currently under construction  in Storfjorden.

The visit also forms part of the preparations for the Crown Prince’s upcoming trip to Japan, where the main purpose is to promote Norwegian seafood internationally.

In collaboration with our partners Prophylaxia and Norsk Edelfisk, we also presented learnings from several years of testing, forming the foundation for our continued large-scale deployment of closed containment systems at sea.
