The rating follows a comprehensive independent assessment of Hofseth's sustainability management systems across the group's operations.
WHAT ECOVADIS ASSESSES
EcoVadis is one of the world's most widely used business sustainability rating providers, having assessed more than 130,000 companies globally. Its methodology is built on recognized international frameworks, including the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, International Labor Organization conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative standards, and ISO 26000.
The assessment examines 21 criteria across four themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis evaluates a company's management systems, policies and processes and scores based on documented evidence rather than stated intentions. The resulting scorecard is used by buyers worldwide to assess the sustainability performance of their suppliers.
Medals are awarded on a comparative basis. Silver recognizes companies in the top 15 percent of those assessed in the preceding twelve months.
INTERPRETING HOFSETH'S RESULTS
Hofseth International achieved an overall score of 76 out of 100, with the group's strongest performance in sustainable procurement. This reflecting continued work on supplier due diligence and responsible purchasing practices.
"A great deal of good work happens across this company every day. What this rating provides is independent confirmation of it, measured against international standards rather than our own," says Ren Meinhart, VP for Sustainability at Hofseth International.
The scope of the assessment is part of its value, and it matches how Hofseth approaches sustainability. EcoVadis examines environmental performance alongside labor and human rights, business ethics, and purchasing practices, a range that reflects the group's commitment to stewardship of the fish, the people, and the environment.
The scorecard also gives a clear picture of where to concentrate further effort, arguably the more valuable half of the assessment.

Independent assessment keeps us honest about the distance still to travel and gives our customers credible third-party evidence they can rely on when reporting to their own stakeholders," says Meinhart.
